Merry Grinchmas

We began our Christmas season with a visit to Santa's Wonderland, at the Bass Pro Shops.
(Yes, I hear Jeff Foxworthy "If you take your child to see Santa at a pro fishing and outdoor shop...You might be a redneck!")

(This was a real "live" reindeer. I don't know if he was one of the Big eight, I hope not.)

Here is David with our "Bass Pass"(our ticket to stand in line and wait to see Santa). Being the Disney geeks that we are we thought the similarity to Disney's Fast Pass was great.

(This might be my favorite picture of David this whole season. It is just so funny.)

Here are David's pictures with Santa Claus.

Our little branch of the Phelps family has a few Christmas traditions.
1. On Christmas Eve we go to church, then we go out to dinner. (I think we will be making it a little more specific and going to Denny's. We went there this year and we really enjoyed it.)
2. After dinner we come back home and open one gift. This gift is special.
It is new Christmas PJs. (got this part from Jeremy's parents...Thanks mom and dad.)

David tried to put his on right away.

3. After we have our jammies we settle down to read our favorite Christmas stories. Jeremy reads 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and I read the Christmas story from Luke chapter 2.

"Twas the night before Christmas .... the stockings were..."

hung in the pass thru??? spread on the couch???

Due to the layout of our house we couldn't actually get a picture of the tree and the presents together.
"Santa came!"

PRESENT TIME!!!

No Austin isn't opening the same present over and over. He had a very DVD Christmas.
Here he is with his only non-DVD gift from us or Santa.

David was most interested in his cars and trucks, but he had fun with everything. The real challenge was getting him to leave the latest toy to open the next present.

Opening presents from Aunt Rachel, Uncle Ant, and Megerah.

We got presents from them too.

More presents...
These are from Nana and Gramps. (aka Mom and Dad)

We got to host Christmas dinner at our house this year. It was great. The whole family came.

This year Tracy and I ended up with the same theme for our jammies and since we already had ours we figured the rest of the family should join in. So we had a Very Merry Grinchmas.

Some shots of David I thought were too cute to leave out.

I'll wrap up this VERY long, picture-filled blog with a cute little video of David dancing.

Sorry it's sideways, I always forget I can't turn the camera for a long angle when shooting videos.
